Hello OMA3,
We are back from ETHDenver, where many of us met in person for the first time and our working group leaders met with infrastructure companies that can help us launch our token. If you missed ETHDenver, no worries as we have two more in-person events in the next month.
In Today’s Email
- OMA3 at GDC and NFT.NYC: If you’re going to be at either one, let’s meet!
- Working group updates: We’re excited about the progress our projects are making.
- Financial Times crypto conference: If you’re in London early May we have a deal for you…

OMA3 in person
- Game Developers Conference 2024 is next week in San Francisco and a few OMA3 members are flying from around the world to attend. Web3 will have a strong presence, especially at side events. OMA3 is humbly contributing to this show of strength with an informal gathering at the top of Yerba Buena Gardens on Wednesday March 20 at 4pm PDT. Come meet our leaders and engage.
- NFT.NYC is the birthplace of OMA3 and we will be hosting our annual happy hour at 5:00pm EDT on April 3, 2024. Check out last year’s event, and that was a down market! Capacity is limited so sign up soon.

Working group updates
OMA3 has three active working groups and all of them are going to have an impact in 2024. Here’s the update.
- The NFT Working Group completed its NFT Royalties use case collaboration with Metaverase Standards Forum, which resulted in 9 use case documents spanning everything from NFT loans to NFT fractionalization. Look out for a public update at NFT.NYC, including a summary of the use cases. The MSF collaboration is now defining use cases for reputation in the metaverse.
- The Portaling and Mapping Working Group released the RFP for the Inter World Portaling System (IWPS) and is now evaluating the first spec submissions for IWPS. Many thanks to OMA3 members Simul and Root Interface for providing the foundational contribution. Modifications, extensions, and even tokenomics are being added now. Again, expect documentation to be released for NFT.NYC, where OMA3 will be discussing IWPS during a panel on the main stage.
- The Token Working Group is evaluating infrastructure architecture for its token launch. We’re considering everything: using an existing Layer 1, using an existing Layer 2, launching our own Layer 1, and launching our own Layer 2. Interoperability with all our member infrastructure, performance, and sufficient decentralization are some of the many challenges. If you have an opinion or an infrastructure product to pitch, contact us or join OMA3!
